Description
An ancient 11th-century tower of 295 square metres located in the municipality of Spoleto, masterfully restored and with a strong historical-architectural character that can certainly offer a unique experience of living in Umbria. The fortress, used as a residence, is still owned by the descendants of a branch of the Ancaiani family, and an ancient family crest is walled on the architrave of the door. It is accessed via a private road, located upstream from the village.
The tower is well preserved and well restored, each level of the tower offers cosy and functional rooms in harmony with the beautiful surrounding landscape.
The main façade is characterised by a portal, with a round arch, above which the austere artefact is softened by a charming little balcony, accessed through an arch that is also round.
Even higher up are two windows with a lowered round arch, the final roof is supported by a series of elegant corbels.
In the 850 square metre garden there is a 30 square metre outbuilding with a double bedroom and bathroom with tub.
From the garden-courtyard bordered by the ancient stone walls you access the ground floor of the tower where there is a large kitchen with fireplace and the stairs leading to the upper floors:
- First floor: large hallway and a bathroom with fireplace. In addition, inside a niche like an aedicule, on the back wall is a fresco of a Madonna and Child by an unknown Umbrian painter from the first half of the 15th century.
- Second floor: large living room with fireplace and balcony;
- Third floor: double bedroom with fireplace;
- Fourth floor: a large double bedroom with a barrel-vaulted roof and access to the terrace.
On the ridge of the tower there is a 41 sq m terrace and a 13 sq m room that can be used as a study, very bright and panoramic from which there is a magnificent view over the valley below with lovely views of the villages of Belvedere, Nicciano and Le Mura.
Access to the property is guaranteed by a private road, located above the town.
